Regular Season Round 4: UBSC Graz - Vienna 83-77

UBSC Graz has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Hallmann (1-3) 83-77 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-77. UBSC Graz dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Hallmann's 28. They outrebounded Hallmann 43-27 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Croatian center Matija Poscic (206-85, college: DePaul) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Croatian Marko Car (188-85) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Poscic is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four UBSC Graz players scored in double figures. The former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) produced 39 points (!!!) and 8 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and American forward Brandon Conley (201-93, college: ORU) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. UBSC Graz left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Vienna. UBSC Graz will meet at home higher ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hallmann will play against UBC St. Poelten (#7) in St.Poelten and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
