Regular Season Round 5: TSV Troester - Treuchtlingen 93-65

There was a surprise result in Breitenguessbach where tenth ranked TSV Troester (3-3) outscored second-ranked Treuchtlingen (4-2) 93-65 on Sunday. TSV Troester dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Treuchtlingen's 34. TSV Troester forced 20 Treuchtlingen turnovers. Center Erik Land (205-90) stepped up and scored 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and center Jonas Klaus (205-97) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. Four TSV Troester players scored in double figures. Lucca Woerrlein responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds and guard Claudio Huhn (185-89) scored 20 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TSV Troester moved-up to eighth place in South-East, which they share with Vilsbiburg. Loser Treuchtlingen keeps the second position with two games lost. TSV Troester will face Schwabing (#11) on the road in the next round. Treuchtlingen will play against Ansbach (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
