Regular Season Round 4: Ternopil-TNEU - Hoverla 94-57

Very expected game when 7th ranked Hoverla (1-3) was rolled over on the road by top-ranked Ternopil-TNEU (4-0) 94-57 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Ternopil-TNEU. Hoverla was better in third quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ternopil-TNEU forced 21 Hoverla turnovers and outrebounded them 43-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Hoverla's players. Guard Mykyta Naiko (197-92) fired 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Swingman Vadim Bykov (193-96) chipped in 17 points. Five Ternopil-TNEU players scored in double figures. Point guard Andriy Kalashnikov (175-89) produced 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and guard Sergey Avrakhov (185-1) added 10 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ternopil-TNEU have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Rivne. Hoverla lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Ternopil-TNEU will face Lutsk Univ. (#5) at home in the next round. Hoverla will play against Zhytomyr and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
