Regular Season Round 5: TKS 49ers - Bochum 81-91

There was a small surprise in Stahnsdorf where twelfth ranked SparkassenStars (1-4) defeated 10th ranked RSV Eintracht (1-4) 91-81 on Sunday. SparkassenStars forced 22 RSV Eintracht turnovers. RSV Eintracht was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Zach Haney (211-96, college: Boise St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Lars Kamp (187-96) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Mubarak Salami (197-96) responded with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Sebastian Fuelle (193-92) scored 17 points. Five SparkassenStars and four RSV Eintracht players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. SparkassenStars left bottom position moving up to tenth place in North, which they share with Oldenburg and Stahnsdorf. SparkassenStars will face higher ranked Titans (#8) in Dresden in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
