Regular Season Round 5: Ulm BBU 01 - Kronberg 86-77

Everything went according to plan when eleventh ranked BBU 01 Ulm (2-3) beat at home bottom-ranked Kronberg (0-5) 86-77 on Sunday. BBU 01 Ulm dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Kronberg's 12. BBU 01 Ulm had a 36-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Kronberg was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Nat-Sidi Diallo (205-0) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and forward Moritz Krimmer (202-0) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. BBU 01 Ulm's coach used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American point guard Kewan Beebe (183-93, college: Geneseo St.) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and guard Yannick Schicktanz (186-90) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BBU 01 Ulm moved-up to eighth place in South-West, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Kronberg still closes the standings with five games lost. BBU 01 Ulm will face higher ranked Koblenz (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kronberg will play against HAKRO Merlins II (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
