Regular Season Round 5: Lemvig - Herlev 64-105

Date: October 23, 2019
Bottom-ranked Lemvig is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to third ranked Herlev (3-2) 105-64 on Wednesday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Herlev. Lemvig managed to win second period 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Herlev forced 29 Lemvig turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Lemvig's players. Forward Ellen Iversen (180-97) nailed 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and power forward Katrine Jessen (188-1) accounted for 15 points and 6 assists. Four Herlev players scored in double figures. Canadian forward Sofia Paska (193-96) came up with 25 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and American guard Maddie Dackin (175-96, college: Ashland) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Lemvig in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Herlev maintains third place with 3-2 record having just two points less than leader Horsholm. Lemvig lost their fourth game in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Herlev will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lemvig will play against Vaerlose (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
