Regular Season Round 5: Horsholm - Amager 77-60

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Amager (3-1) on the court of leader Horsholm on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Horsholm 77-60. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Amager. The game was mostly controlled by Horsholm. Amager managed to win third quarter 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Amager to just 7 points in fourth quarter. International forward Gritt Ryder (173-92, college: Colorado St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Alyssa Rader (188-97, college: S.Florida) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Ena Viso (179-93, college: S.Dakota St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Ruth Sherrill (183-94, college: Temple, agency: Interperformances) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Amager. Four Amager players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Horsholm (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. Defending champion Amager keeps the second position with one game lost. Horsholm are looking forward to face SISU (#4) in Copenhagen in the next round. Amager will play at home against Aabyhoj and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
