We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked FC Bayern III (3-3) was crushed on the road by eighth ranked Vilsbiburg (4-3) 96-74 on Saturday. Vilsbiburg made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 FC Bayern III turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Czech center Lubos Novy (204-91) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. American swingman Kendall Stafford (193-97, college: N.Alabama) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds. Four Vilsbiburg players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Jannick Jebens (199-98) who recorded 22 points and 4 steals and Constantin Schmitt (200-97) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vilsbiburg moved-up to fourth place in South-East, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted FC Bayern III dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
