Regular Season Round 6: Giessen 46ers 2 - Hanau 77-73

There was an upset when higher ranked White Wings (3-3) were defeated on the road by tenth ranked Giessen 46ers II (2-4) 77-73 on Saturday. Giessen 46ers II forced 19 White Wings turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Wyatt Lohaus (188-95, college: N.Iowa) who scored 25 points and 4 assists. The former international Johannes Lischka (203-87) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Giessen 46ers II players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Till-Joscha Joenke (193-92) who recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Spanish guard Miguel Servera (198-92) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Giessen 46ers II moved-up to ninth place in South, which they share with Coburg. Loser White Wings keep the fifth position with three games lost. Giessen 46ers II will face higher ranked OrangeAcademy (#6) in Ulm in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. White Wings will play at home against Loewen and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
