Regular Season Round 6: Weser Baskets - Aschersleben 68-101

No shocking result in a game in Neustadt where first ranked Aschersleben (5-1) smashed bottom-ranked Weser Baskets (0-6) 101-68 on Saturday. Aschersleben dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Weser Baskets' 36. Aschersleben forced 25 Weser Baskets turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Weser Baskets' players. The best player for the winners was Italian-Slovenian center Davor Barovic (211-90) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Eduard Hoffmann (185-97) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Four Aschersleben players scored in double figures. Weser Baskets' coach Caitanya Kaiser gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Aschersleben maintains first position in North with 5-1 record. Newly promoted Weser Baskets still closes the standings with six games lost. Aschersleben will have a break next round.
