Regular Season Round 5: Besiktas - OGM Orman 73-74

A very interesting game took place in Istanbul. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed Besiktas (3-2) to fifth ranked Ormanspor (3-2) 74-73 in the fight for the fourth place. Ormanspor forced 20 Besiktas turnovers. The best player for the winners was Mehmet Yakar who scored 20 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Baran Aycan (-1) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Utku Yurttas (-2) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals and Umut Ozcan (-2) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Besiktas' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Ormanspor moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Besiktas. Ormanspor's next round opponent will be Pinar Karsiyaka (#8) at home. Besiktas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Anadolu Efes.
