Very predictable result when third ranked Herner TC (4-1) defeated at home 8th ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (2-2) 74-65 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was British guard Kennedy Leonard (173-96, college: Colorado, agency: LBM Management) who scored 24 points. Dutch forward Laura Westerik (176-98) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Herner TC's coach Marek Piotrowski used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian-Hungarian center Alexandria Kiss-Rusk (193-93, college: McGill, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 12 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Tonisha Baker (173-90, college: Campbell) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Defending champion maintains third position with 4-1 record having just three points less than leader Keltern, which they share with Wasserburg. Loser BC Pharmaserv Marburg dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Herner TC will meet XCYDE Angels Noerdlingen (#6) on the road in the next round. BC Pharmaserv Marburg will have a break next round.
