Regular Season Round 5: Gaziantep - FMV Isik 88-56

Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Gaziantep (2-3) rolled over at home bottom-ranked FMV Isik BB (0-5) 88-56 on Sunday. Gaziantep dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to FMV Isik BB's 34. Gaziantep forced 26 FMV Isik BB turnovers and outrebounded them 60-40 including a 40-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gaziantep looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by FMV Isik BB's players. FMV Isik BB was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Koray Cekici (-2) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 19 rebounds and 8 assists. Ahmet Ozkan (-1) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Gaziantep players scored in double figures. Hamza Halezeroglu (-2) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds and forward Yigit Aydin (193-99) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for FMV Isik BB. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gaziantep moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Darussafaka and Tesvikiye. FMV Isik BB lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Gaziantep will face Bursaspor (#9) on the road in the next round. FMV Isik BB's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Darussafaka.
