Regular Season Round 4: Vienna Utd. Post - BK Duchess 37-79

The most interesting game of round 4 in the AWBL was a home defeat of 3rd ranked Flying Foxes (2-2) by second ranked BK Duchess (3-1) who outscored them by 42 points 79-37. It ended the two-game winning streak of Flying Foxes. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. BK Duchess led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Flying Foxes to just 2 points in fourth quarter and to 11 points in second half. BK Duchess dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Flying Foxes' 28. BK Duchess forced 19 Flying Foxes turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Hungarian Lilla Horvath (183-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and Bettina Kunz (180-99) who added 17 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Spanish guard Agueda Trujillo (180-95, college: Idaho) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and forward Natalie Kalaydjiev (181-1) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. BK Duchess keep a position of league leader, which they share with UBI Graz and Basket Flames. Flying Foxes at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. BK Duchess is looking forward to face Timberwolves (#5) in Vienna in the next round. Flying Foxes' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Vienna Basket Flames.
