A very interesting game took place in Hagen. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 13th ranked Phoenix Hagen (2-6) to seventh ranked Walter Tigers (5-3) 73-70 on Thursday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Canadian forward Tanner Graham (201-96, college: Queen's) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds. The former international center Philipp Neumann (209-92) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Walter Tigers players scored in double figures. Walter Tigers' coach Douglas Spradley allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Czech center Adam Pechacek (207-95) replied with 20 points and American guard Kyle Leufroy (190-96, college: Lehigh) added 15 points in the effort for Phoenix Hagen. Walter Tigers moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bayer Giants. Phoenix Hagen lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. Walter Tigers will have a break next round. Phoenix Hagen will play on the road against Science City Jena (#5) and hope to win that game.
