Regular Season Round 8: Trier - Schalke 88-79

Rather expected game in Trier where 10th ranked Schalke (2-5) was defeated by eighth ranked Gladiators (4-3) 88-79 on Thursday. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Till Gloger (204-93, college: Maine) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all fourteen shots !!!) and American guard Jordan Geist (188-97, college: Missouri) who added 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. American guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and British guard Jordan Spencer (188-94, college: Augustana, SD) scored 10 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gladiators maintains eighth position with 4-3 record. Loser Schalke dropped to the eleventh place with five games lost. Gladiators will face higher ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Schalke will play against Bayer Giants (#6) and hope to win that game.
