Regular Season Round 6: Besiktas - Buyukcekmece 84-87

Buyukcekmece can celebrate finally their first win this season after five consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they edged much higher ranked Besiktas (2-4) on the road game in Istanbul 87-84. Buyukcekmece made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Buyukcekmece players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Kenny Hayes (186-87, college: Miami, OH) who led his team to a victory with 28 points and 6 assists. Mert Celep (206-95) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American Shaquielle McKissic (196-90, college: ASU) replied with 28 points and 5 rebounds and Burak Can Yildizli (202-94) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Besiktas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Buyukcekmece (1-5) left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place, which they share with ITU BB and OGM Orman. Besiktas at the other side dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with Gaziantep and Afyon. Buyukcekmece will play against higher ranked Bursaspor (#8) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Besiktas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Fenerbahce.
