Regular Season Round 7: Rendsburg - Goetting.ASC 61-87

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Rendsburg (1-6) was outleveled at home by third ranked Goetting.ASC (5-1) 87-61 on Saturday. Goetting.ASC dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Rendsburg's 22. Goetting.ASC forced 20 Rendsburg turnovers and outrebounded them 47-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Quite impressive performance for American center Matthew Husek (211, college: Holy Cross) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Swingman Nick Boakye (197-95) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Goetting.ASC players scored in double figures. French forward Cedric Perry (195-97, college: Pasco-Hernando CC) answered with 13 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Kyle Parker (183-95, college: Grinnell) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Rendsburg. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Goetting.ASC. They keep a position of North leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Rendsburg lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the twelfth place with six games lost. Goetting.ASC will face Langenhagen (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Rendsburg will play against Bramsche TuS (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
