Regular Season Round 9: Dzukija - Siauliai 87-61
Date: November 2, 2019
Bottom-ranked Dzukija managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of five consecutive losses on Saturday night. This time they outleveled seventh-ranked Siauliai in Alytus 87-61. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 26-point difference suggests that Dzukija is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game was mostly controlled by Dzukija. Siauliai managed to win third quarter 15-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dzukija forced 21 Siauliai turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for Mindaugas Susinskas (204-95) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American point guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland, agency: SDJ Sports) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Dzukija players scored in double figures. American guard Kevin Hardy (188-93, college: McNeese St., agency: Agency) answered with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Antanas Udras (203-92, agency: Agency) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Siauliai. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dzukija (2-5) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Siauliai and Juventus. Dzukija is looking forward to face league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Siauliai will play at home against Prienai CBet (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
