Regular Season Round 6: Bamberg - Schwabach 70-48

Date: November 2, 2019
Rather predictable result when second ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (5-1) smashed at home 5th ranked Schwabach (2-3) 70-48 on Saturday. Don Bosco Bamberg forced 26 Schwabach turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Don Bosco Bamberg made 7 blocks. Slovenian Ela Micunovic (182-97) scored 20 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Daniela Vogel (179-92) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Anna Furman (185-99) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Deeshyra Thomas (168-95, college: Weber St.) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Don Bosco Bamberg maintains second position in South with 5-1 record having just one point less than leader Wuerzburg, which they share with Jahn Muenchen. Loser Schwabach dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Don Bosco Bamberg will face ASC Theresianum Mainz (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Schwabach will play against Jahn Muenchen and hope to win that game.
