Regular Season Round 7: Bochum - Schwelm EN 70-72

A very close game took place in Bochum between SG Schwelmer Baskets and SparkassenStars. Second ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (6-1) got a very close victory on the road over 8th ranked SparkassenStars (2-5). SG Schwelmer Baskets managed to escape with a 2-point win 72-70 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SparkassenStars. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Montrael Scott (190-93, college: PVAMU) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Panamanian forward Anell Alexis (200-90, college: Marist) accounted for 11 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four SG Schwelmer Baskets players scored in double figures. British guard Conner Washington (183-92) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and guard Lars Kamp (187-96) added 19 points respectively for SparkassenStars in the defeat. SparkassenStars' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SG Schwelmer Baskets keep a position of North leader, which they share with BSW Sixers. Loser SparkassenStars dropped to the ninth place with five games lost. They share the position with Iserlohn and Oldenburg. SG Schwelmer Baskets will meet at home Titans (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SparkassenStars will play against Oldenburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
