Undefeated leader Balkan delivered the fifth consecutive victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Academik Plovdiv (2-3) 82-73. Balkan players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Montenegrin center Mihailo Sekulovic (206-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 11 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian point guard Marko Radonjic (190-93) contributed with 10 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Balkan players scored in double figures. International Vasil Bachev (195-92, college: Cuesta JC) answered with 27 points and 7 assists and Montenegrin forward Vasilije Knezevic (202-96) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Academik Plovdiv. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Balkan (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row, which they share with Levski Lukoil. Academik Plovdiv at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Academic. Balkan will play against Beroe (#3) in Stara Zagora in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Academik Plovdiv will play on the road against Rilski in Samokov and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
