We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eighth ranked Langenhagen (3-3) defeated at home 7th ranked WSG Koenigs (3-4) 71-57 on Saturday. Langenhagen forced 20 WSG Koenigs turnovers. Strangely WSG Koenigs outrebounded Langenhagen 48-29 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for point guard Samuel Mpacko (187-98) who helped to win the game recording 17 points. Point guard Tim Brauner (185-91) contributed with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American forward Jerrell Martin (198-95, college: Siena Heights) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and guard Nico Adamczak (191-90) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for WSG Koenigs. Langenhagen moved-up to seventh place in North. Loser WSG Koenigs dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Langenhagen will face higher ranked Goetting.ASC (#3) in Goettingen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. WSG Koenigs will play at home against the league's second-placed Wolmirstedt (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
