Regular Season Round 7: Elchingen - Speyer 85-77

An interesting game for Elchingen (5-2) which hosted in Elchingen 4th placed Speyer (4-3). Third ranked Elchingen managed to get a 8-point victory 85-77. Elchingen looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a very good performance for American power forward Lamar Mallory (201-90, college: Glenville St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Hungarian-Serbian point guard Stefan Fekete (190-86) contributed with 7 points and 10 assists for the winners. Mallory is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Elchingen's coach Igor Perovic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American guard DJ Woodmore (190-92, college: Va.Wesleyan) answered with 24 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Russian forward Albert Kuppe (200-88) added 28 points (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Speyer. Elchingen moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Baunach. Speyer lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Elchingen will face Loewen (#11) in Erfurt in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Speyer will play at home against Coburg (#7) and hope to win that game.
