Regular Season Round 6: Vechta - Telekom Bsk 95-83

Rather expected game when 11th ranked Telekom Baskets (1-3) were defeated on the road by ninth ranked SC Rasta Vechta (3-3) 95-83. SC Rasta Vechta players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American swingman Trevis Simpson (193-91, college: UNCG) notched 23 points to lead the effort and the other American import guard Ishmail Wainright (196-94, college: Baylor) supported him with 17 points and 5 assists. Even 12 points and 5 rebounds by forward Martin Breunig (203-92, college: Montana) did not help to save the game for Telekom Baskets. Forward Benjamin Lischka (204-89) added 10 points and 6 rebounds. Four SC Rasta Vechta and five Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. SC Rasta Vechta have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Wuerzburg. Telekom Baskets lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with three games lost. SC Rasta Vechta's next round opponent will be Giessen 46ers (#13) on the road where they are favorite. Telekom Baskets will play against Brose Baskets and hope to win that game.
