Regular Season Round 7: Giessen - Kronberg 85-75

Very predictable result when eighth ranked Giessen Pointers (4-3) won against at home bottom-ranked Kronberg (0-7) 85-75 on Saturday. Giessen Pointers dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Kronberg's 38. Quite impressive performance for American forward Tyrell Sturdivant (201-95, college: Stony Brook) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Dominik Turudic (202-94) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Giessen Pointers' coach Daniel Doerr used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Nicolas Lagerman (192-1) answered with 17 points and guard Tim Steiner (186-92) added 14 points in the effort for Kronberg. Giessen Pointers moved-up to fourth place in South-West, which they share with Langen and Koblenz. Kronberg lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Giessen Pointers will face Koblenz (#5) on the road in the next round. Kronberg will play against Tuebingen II (#13) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
