Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Anadolu Efes (#1) and Besiktas (#5). Anadolu Efes (6-0) smashed visiting Besiktas (3-3) by 22 points 96-74. Anadolu Efes dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Besiktas' 34. Anadolu Efes forced 20 Besiktas turnovers and outrebounded them 46-26 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Anadolu Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 24 passes made by Besiktas' players. The best player for the winners was forward Goktug Bas (201-1) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Eren Has (201-1) chipped in 24 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Umut Ozcan (-2) who recorded 13 points and 6 rebounds and Utku Yurttas (-2) added 11 points and 9 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anadolu Efes have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Besiktas at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Anadolu Efes will meet at home Ormanspor (#4) in the next round. Besiktas will play against TED Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
