Regular Season Round 7: Crailsheim 2 - Koblenz 86-84

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Regionalliga took place in Crailsheim. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Koblenz (4-3) to third ranked HAKRO Merlins II (5-2) 86-84 on Saturday evening. HAKRO Merlins II shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Trevon Evans (183-95, college: Sioux Falls) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Croatian-Bosnian power forward Sandro Antunovic (207-98) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Serbian-Bosnian guard Marko Sutalo (194-83, agency: PEPI SPORT) answered with 27 points and point guard Steffen Haufs (188-95) added 10 points and 7 assists in the effort for Koblenz. Four Koblenz players scored in double figures. Koblenz's coach Josip Bosnjak rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. HAKRO Merlins II have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place in South-West with 5-2 record having just one point less than leader Leitershofen. Koblenz at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Langen and Giessen. HAKRO Merlins II are looking forward to face Mannheim (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Koblenz will play against Giessen Pointers (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
