Regular Season Round 7: Wuerzburg - Baunach 99-73

Date: November 3, 2019
Second defeat of league's leader Baunach (5-2) against second ranked Wuerzburg (6-1) 99-73 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Baunach. It was a key game for the top position in South. Wuerzburg made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Cameron Hunt (196, college: Southwestern, KS) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Lithuanian forward Rytis Pipiras (201-95) contributed with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Moritz Plescher (195-0) answered with 20 points and 4 assists and Croatian-Austrian Leon Bulic (210-1) added 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Baunach. Five Wuerzburg and four Baunach players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wuerzburg have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of South leader. Baunach at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Elchingen. They were replaced at the leadership position by Wuerzburg. Baunach will play next round against OrangeAcademy trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Wuerzburg will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked FC Bayern II in Muenchen.
