Regular Season Round 9: Rostock - Art.Dragons 98-73

Bottom-ranked Rostock managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of five consecutive losses. This time they outleveled fifteenth-ranked Artland Dragons 98-73. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 25-point difference suggests that Rostock is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. They shot 61.3 percent from the field. They also forced 19 Artland Dragons turnovers. Rostock shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 60.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Artland Dragons' players. It was a good game for center Kalidou Diouf (206-94, college: CBU) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Martin Bogdanov (186-92) contributed with 11 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four Rostock players scored in double figures. Rostock's coach Milan Skobalj felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Malik Dunbar (198-96, college: Auburn) answered with 30 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: PFW) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Artland Dragons. Rostock (2-6) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Schalke and Ehingen. Artland Dragons lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Kirchheim. Rostock will play against higher ranked Gladiators (#8) in Trier in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Artland Dragons will play at home against Schalke (#12) to get more than just one victory in their record.
