Regular Season Round 8: Horsens IC - Naestved 97-67

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Horsens. Second ranked Horsens IC faced 4th ranked Naestved. Host Horsens IC (7-1) smashed guests from Naestved (4-3) 97-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Naestved. The game without a history. Horsens IC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Naestved 41-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. Horsens IC looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Naestved's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Horsens IC made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian forward Stefan Savic (200-95) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Bosnian forward Vedran Borovcanin (199-85) who added 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Horsens IC players scored in double figures. Horsens IC's coach Finnur Stefansson felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American Evan Fitzner (208-96, college: Indiana) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Dominican-Austrian swingman Carlos Mateo (198-92) scored 19 points. Horsens IC maintains second position with 7-1 record having just three point less than leader Randers. Naestved at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Horsens IC will meet league's leader Randers on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Naestved will have a break next round.
