Regular Season Round 11: Suduva-Mantinga - Ereliai Mazeikiai 83-78

Very expected game in Marijampole where 14th ranked Ereliai Mazeikiai (2-8) was defeated by third ranked Suduva-Mantinga (8-2) 83-78 on Thursday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Suduva-Mantinga looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for swingman Gintautas Matulis (196-86, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points. Justinas Jogminas (197-97) helped adding 17 points. Rokas Stankevicius (-0) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds and Augustinas Venckus (190-97) scored 13 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Suduva-Mantinga moved-up to second place, which they share with Silute. Ereliai Mazeikiai lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Suduva-Mantinga will face Taurages (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ereliai Mazeikiai will play against Silales Lusis (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
