Regular Season Round 11: Jonava - Ezerunas 72-80

Rather predictable result when twelfth ranked Ezerunas (5-6) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Jonava (2-8) 80-72 on Thursday. Ezerunas dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Jonava's 32. They outrebounded Jonava 45-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for center Ignas Lukosius (202-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks. Swingman Rokas Jukonis (194-90) helped adding 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Kahlil Thomas (203-94, college: Rider) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds and Modestas Zaunieriunas (189-94) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ezerunas. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Delikatesas and Vytis. Jonava lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Ezerunas will face league's second-placed Silute at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jonava will play against Gargzdu (#11) in Gargzdai and hope to win that game.
