Regular Season Round 7: Edremit - Botas 82-49

Everything could happen in Balikesir at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Edremit and 16th ranked Botas had identical 1-5 record. This time Edremit used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Adana 82-49 on Saturday night. Edremit dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Botas' 28. Edremit forced 21 Botas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Revaziye Donmez (-88) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 assists. American center Breanna Lewis (196-94, college: Kansas St.) helped adding 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Edremit players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Tearra Banks (188-95, college: Austin Peay) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Betul Kutlu (170-97, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Botas' coach Cemal Gozeneli gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Edremit (2-5) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Botas lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with Yalova Vip. Edremit will meet higher ranked Sakarya Y. (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Botas will play against Mardin BSB (#4) and hope to win that game.
