Regular Season Round 8: Copenhagen - EBAA 83-92

The most important game in the last round took place in Copenhagen between second ranked Copenhagen (2-6) and fifth ranked EBAA (1-7) on Saturday night. Copenhagen was defeated by EBAA in a tough game at home 83-92. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Copenhagen won third quarter 23-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. EBAA made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Copenhagen turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 22 on the defensive glass. EBAA looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Nadir Alston (203-94, college: Rutgers-Newark) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import center Keane Thomann (211-89, college: Missouri So.) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Patrick Burke (202-96, college: DBU) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and Filip Rajovic (198-97) added 20 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Copenhagen players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. EBAA left bottom position moving up to fourth place. It was Copenhagen's fifth loss in a row. They dropped to the third position with six games lost. EBAA are looking forward to face Amager BK (#5) in Kastrup in the next round. Copenhagen will play at home against Svendborg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
