Regular Season Round 5: Final Spor - Fethiye 73-80

The most interesting game of round 5 was a home defeat of 4th placed Final Spor (3-2) to third ranked Fethiye (4-1) 80-73. It ended the two-game winning streak of Final Spor. Fethiye looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard Erick Neal (178-95, college: UT Arlington) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and his fellow American import center DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Fethiye players scored in double figures. American point guard Marlain Veal (175-96, college: SE Louisiana) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds and guard Serhat Ugur (192-85) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fethiye moved-up to second place, which they share with Mamak. Final Spor at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Fethiye is looking forward to face Manisa (#4) at home in the next round. Final Spor will play against Ankara B. and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
