Regular Season Round 7: Dnipro-2 - Politekhnik 72-73 OT

Dnipro-2 (#5) forced the game against Politekhnik (#4) into an overtime, but lost by one point 72-73 on Saturday night. The game took place in Dnipro. But the guests from Kharkiv were better at the end. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime then Dnipro-2 managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Politekhnik who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 6-5. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Power forward Anton Rochnyak (205-91) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Center Viktor Kolotilov (205-97) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. Ihor Dubonenko (197-98) produced 20 points and Davyd Kim added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Dnipro-2's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Politekhnik (5-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Khimik-2. Dnipro-2 at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Politekhnik will have a break next round. Dnipro-2 will play again at home against Politekhnik (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
