Regular Season Round 5: Leotar - Capljina 84-78

Everything could happen in Trebinje at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Leotar and 6th ranked Capljina had identical 2-2 record. This time Leotar used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Capljina 84-78 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Capljina was trailing by 11 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 25-15 charge of Leotar, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Swingman Dejan Sakotic (195-93, agency: PEPI SPORT) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds. International point guard Marko Rikalo (187-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 assists for the winners. Four Leotar players scored in double figures. American swingman Preston Bungei (198-95, college: Norfolk St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian power forward Vladimir Ivelja (204-88) added 21 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Capljina. Leotar (3-2) moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Capljina at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Leotar will face Zrinjski HT (#10) in Mostar in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Capljina will play at home against Spars Sarajevo and hope to win that game.
