Date: November 9, 2019
The game between 10th ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (3-6) and third ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (8-2) in Schwenningen on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Heidelberg outscored BV Villingen-Schwenningen 85-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BV Villingen-Schwenningen. It was a very good performance for American point guard Zamal Nixon (186-89, college: Houston) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Center Phillipp Heyden (206-88) contributed with 10 points for the winners. Naturalized Croatian power forward Marko Bacak (210-95) replied with 12 points and 5 rebounds and American guard David Dennis (185-97, college: Nova SE) added 11 points and 4 steals in the effort for BV Villingen-Schwenningen. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. MLP Academics Heidelberg maintains third position with 8-2 record behind leader Chemnitz, which they share with Jena. Newly promoted BV Villingen-Schwenningen keeps the tenth place with six games lost. MLP Academics Heidelberg will face Kirchheim Knights (#16) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. BV Villingen-Schwenningen will play against Artland Dragons (#14) in Quakenbrueck and hope to win that game.
