Regular Season Round 7: Chemnitz - B.Loewen 44-77

Bottom-ranked ChemCats Chemnitz (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 77-44 loss to second ranked B.Loewen (4-2) in Chemnitz. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to ChemCats Chemnitz's 34. They outrebounded ChemCats Chemnitz 45-25 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Kristina King (180-92, college: Richmond) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Finnish Anissa Pounds (174-90, college: Arkansas Tech) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Puthoff-King is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Anabel Neuber-Valdez (175-1) came up with 7 points and 7 rebounds and international Lucile Peroche (174-98) added 9 points respectively for ChemCats Chemnitz in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for B.Loewen. They maintain second place in North with 4-2 record having just two points less than leader Wuerzburg. ChemCats Chemnitz lost their fourth game in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. B.Loewen's next round opponent will be Krofdorf (#9) in Giessen and are hoping to win another game. ChemCats Chemnitz will play on the road against Baskets Grunberg in Gruenberg and hopes to get finally their first victory.
