The game between third ranked Baskets Grunberg (3-3) and fifth ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (3-2) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Baskets Grunberg was defeated by Rotenburg/Scheessel in a tough game in Gruenberg 56-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Baskets Grunberg. They outrebounded Baskets Grunberg 42-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. The former international guard Pia Mankertz (170-90) fired 18 points and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Kama Griffitts (183-91, college: Arizona) chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Rotenburg/Scheessel players scored in double figures. Swingman Isabell Meinhart (178-94) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Cassidy Mihalko (180-95, college: CBU) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Rotenburg/Scheessel moved-up to third place in North. Baskets Grunberg at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Rotenburg/Scheessel will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Baskets Grunberg will play at home against ChemCats Chemnitz (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
