The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Dnipro-2's (3-5) home loss to fourth ranked Politekhnik (5-1) 75-88 on Sunday. Politekhnik outrebounded Dnipro-2 58-34 including a 39-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Anton Rochnyak (205-91) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Viktor Kolotilov (205-97) chipped in a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Vladislav Orzul (192-1) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and Yevhenii Sorochan (192-0) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Dnipro-2's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Politekhnik have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Khimik-2. Loser Dnipro-2 keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Politekhnik will face Novomoskovsk (#8) in Dnipro in the next round where they are favorite. Dnipro-2 will play on the road against Kremen in Kremenchuk and hope to win that game.
