Regular Season Round 5: CSKA - Shumen 61-90

The most shocking disappointment of round 5 in the Division A was a home defeat of 3rd placed CSKA (1-3) by fourth ranked Shumen (2-2) who outscored them by 29 points 90-61. Shumen outrebounded CSKA 41-30 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Swingman Krasimir Dimitrov (195-98) stepped up and scored 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Nikolay Nikolov (201-97) chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Emilian Grudov (198-1) responded with 13 points and 4 steals and guard Dimitar Genov (187-2) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shumen moved-up to third place. CSKA lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Shumen are looking forward to face league's second-placed Rilski 2 in Samokov in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. CSKA will play at home against Vidabasket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
