Regular Season Round 6: Ankara B. - Final Spor 93-99

Bottom-ranked Ankara B. (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 99-93 loss to seventh ranked Final Spor (4-2) in Ankara. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Ankara B. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Serhat Ugur (192-85) notched 22 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and Senegalese forward Abdoulaye Gueye (206-94, college: Georgia Tech) supported him with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks (perfect from the field making all six shots). Even 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Larry Austin-Jr (188-96, college: Cent Michigan) did not help to save the game for Ankara B.. Forward Gokhan Tunca (201-80) added 19 points and 7 rebounds. Five Final Spor and four Ankara B. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Final Spor moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Ankara B. still closes the standings with six games lost. Final Spor's next round opponent will be Socar Petkim (#6) at home. Ankara B. will play against Manisa (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
