Regular Season Round 6: Medias - Constanta 93-80

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Constanta (2-4) was defeated on the road by third ranked Medias (5-1) 93-80 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Medias. Constanta was better in second period 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Medias looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international point guard Octavian Calota (185-84) scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Titus Nicoara (203-88, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Medias players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Darian Bryant (193-96, college: Delaware) with 15 points and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Kyle Kilgore (201, college: Dakota St.) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Medias maintains third position in Nationala with 5-1 record behind leader Cluj Napoca. Loser Constanta keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Medias will face league's second-placed Galati on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Constanta will play against Marmatiei and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
