Regular Season Round 8: Oberwart - Arkadia 112-67

Leader Gunners Oberwart delivered the seventh victory. This time they crushed 7th ranked Arkadia Lions (3-5) 112-67. The game without a history. Gunners Oberwart led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.3 percent from the field. Gunners Oberwart outrebounded Arkadia Lions 39-19 including a 25-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 18 long-distance shots on high 58.1 percentage. Gunners Oberwart players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Lithuanian swingman Andrius Mikutis (194-88, college: John Brown, agency: Players Group) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). American guard Lawrence Alexander (190-91, college: NDSU) contributed with 20 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Gunners Oberwart players scored in double figures. Gunners Oberwart's coach Horst Leitner felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Slovenian point guard Jan Razdevsek (191-0) replied with 22 points and 4 assists and Slovenian center Matija Radanovic (203-95) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Arkadia Lions. Gunners Oberwart (7-1) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position, which they share with Klosterneuburg. Arkadia Lions at the other side keep the seventh place with five games lost. Gunners Oberwart will play against UBSC Graz (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Arkadia Lions will play against UBC St. Poelten and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
