Regular Season Round 14: Telsiai - Vytis 79-75

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Telsiai as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Suduva-Mantinga) loss. Telsiai defeated 11th ranked Vytis in Telsiu 79-75. Telsiai dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Vytis' 26. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Forward Ovidijus Kaminskis (195-91) notched 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and point guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) supported him with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Telsiai players scored in double figures. Telsiai's coach Rytis Vaisvila allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 18 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals by point guard Paulius Semaska (185-93) did not help to save the game for Vytis. Forward Marijus Uzupis (197-93) added 17 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Silute. Vytis at the other side dropped to the ninth place with eight games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Vytis will play next round against Ereliai Mazeikiai trying to get back on the winning streak. Telsiai will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Taurages on the road.
