Rather predictable result in Klaipeda where fourth ranked Neptunas-Akv. (10-4) defeated 8th ranked Palanga (5-8) 90-77 on Saturday. Center Vytautas Sarakauskas (204-82) had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Nojus Mineikis (200-0) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Tomas Gaidamavicius used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Quincy Taylor (183-91, college: Longwood) responded with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and Karolis Sapiega (197-99) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Neptunas-Akv. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 10-4 record. Loser Palanga dropped to the ninth place with eight games lost. Neptunas-Akv. will have a break next round. Palanga will play at home against the league's second-placed Silute (#2) and hope to win that game.
