Round 5 most important game was a defeat of league's leader NINERS (3-2). They were defeated by fourth ranked Berlin T. (3-2) 69-56 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in B North-East. Berlin T. dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to NINERS's 24. Berlin T. forced 21 NINERS turnovers and outrebounded them 43-30 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Olivier Borgol (203-2) stepped up and scored 9 points, 17 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners and Bela Wenczel (195-1) chipped in 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Kevin Kollmar (189-2) responded with 18 points and Henry Schumann (194-2) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Berlin T. keeps a position of B North-East leader, which they share with NINERS Acad. and Dresden T. NINERS will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Berlin T. will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked NINERS in Chemnitz.
