Regular Season Round 8: Tofas - Galatasaray 71-58

Rather predictable result when second ranked Tofas (7-1) won against 5th ranked Galatasaray (4-4) in Bursa 71-58 on Saturday. Tofas forced 19 Galatasaray turnovers. Forward Omer Yavas (203-1) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Batin Tuna (196-3) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Emir Oflaz (-2) replied with 14 points and Serhat Tuzinoglu (-1) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Galatasaray. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Tofas keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Fenerbahce and TAC NEF. Loser Galatasaray dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. Tofas will face Tesvikiye (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Galatasaray will play against Banvit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
